There are many little magical items that were made custom. After all, no wizard creates a +1 longsword without knowing who's going to end up owning the thing. That means that most magical items more complex than a scroll or a potion are inscribed with the name of a family, or a short poem, or made with a particular family's motif, or etc.
Think, for example, of things like Captain Kennit's little wizardwood charm (from the Liveship Traders). It's made in his face, and speaks with his voice, and would no matter who wore it.
Other examples could include a sword with the family's crest pressed into the quillions or crosstrees; a wand with poetry carved into the handle given to a noble's wife; a crystal ball set atop a little bronze stand shaped like serpents that are painted with the colors of a religious order or something.
